SoBAP: TIPS Program

The Transexual Intervention and Prevention Services Program of the South Beach Aids Project, Inc. is a transgender-led community empowerment, health, and HIV prevention program for transgender persons in Miami-Dade County. TIPS works to:

Empower transgender persons with a sense of community pride, support and self-esteem.

Establish and implement directed peer-led, transgender-specific HIV prevention services.

Facilitate transgender connections to safe medical/mental health care and social services.

Free, anonymous or confidential HIV testing and counseling for transgender persons and their partners.

Peer leadership, support, activity and skill building groups for all people who identify as transgender.

Culturally sensitive prevention and health materials specific to transgender people and their partners.

Referrals to safe and sensitive service provider network.

Gender and sexuality diversity trainings for medical/mental health providers and community organizations.
