Many Men, Many Voices (3MV) is a 7-session group-level intervention program to prevent HIV and sexually transmitted diseases among black MSM (men who have
sex with men). MSM include men who identify as gay or bisexual as well as men who have sex with men who don’t identify as gay or bisexual, but acknowledge sexual attraction to men. Black includes African American, African, Caribbean, and Black Hispanic; in essence, persons who identify with Black culture and history who have sex with men (MSM) who may or may not identify themselves as gay.

3MV is designed to be facilitated by a peer in groups of 6-12 participants in 7 sessions. Each session takes 2.5 to 3 hours to complete.

The sessions aim to foster positive self identity, educate participants and addresses factors that influence the behavior of black MSM: cultural, social, religious norms and their risks for HIV and STDs also teach skills related to prevention including condom use, partner negotiation, risk assessment, risk-related decision making, sexual relationship dynamics and the social influences that racism and homophobia have on HIV risk behaviors.
